DENVER – Nov. 7, 2017 – Denver International Airport’s (DEN) travelers will experience the art and science of Colorado’s cold stuff in the latest exhibit called “Colorado Snow & Ice.” The exhibit provides insight into the different aspects of Colorado winters including recreational activities, research and technology that helps keep the high country safe and even artwork that showcases the beauty of Colorado. The exhibit is located in Ansbacher Hall in the Jeppesen Terminal, Level 6 North before A Bridge Security through early January 2018.
“Colorado Snow & Ice” creates a visual and interactive experience with starry nighttime photographs, origami snowflakes, hand-painted original artworks used for ski maps and whimsical interpretations of some of Colorado’s favorite peaks. There is also a video from helicopters capturing isolated avalanches, replicas of research snow pits and a handful of scientific gadgets that help to educate about the range of studies about snow. Adding to the fun are vintage and modern day recreational equipment such as sleds, lift tickets, ice skates and skis. There are also origami art projects for travelers to make their own creations.
