DENVER, CO — June 10, 2013 — Beginning today, travelers at Denver International Airport (DIA) can enjoy a prime cut of steak, a glass of wine or a Colorado football legend’s signature salad at the new Elway’s steakhouse.
Elway’s, named after owner and former Denver Broncos quarterback John Elway, opened its fourth Colorado location on the B Concourse at DIA.
The restaurant will be open from 7 a.m. to 11 p.m. daily, with service for breakfast, lunch and dinner. The location will seat approximately 147 guests in the main dining area, bar seating and a patio area. The restaurant will reflect the design and ambience of its Cherry Creek location, with added features such as wide aisles and an express counter to accommodate travelers. The restaurant also features retail and memorabilia displays and glass dividers to enhance intimacy.
“The airport is actively transforming many of its concessions in the coming years to give travelers options from local, national and international brands,” said Kim Day, DIA’s Manager of Aviation. “Elway’s is in the unique position of being an iconic Colorado brand with international name recognition. We’re proud to welcome Elway’s to DIA, and we look forward to adding even more dynamic dining and shopping choices for our passengers soon.”
More than 75 percent of DIA’s concession locations will be transforming due to expiring leases. Many new businesses will have the opportunity to compete for space at the airport, and travelers will benefit from worldclass, fresh new products and services. Over the next three years, an estimated one to three new concessions will be transformed each month, leading to a great mix of local and national brands.
DIA’s concession program consists of more than 170,000 square feet of retail space inside the airport that includes more than 140 locations offering an exciting culinary, fashion and retail experience. In 2012, the concession program generated $281 million in annual gross sales and more than $45.4 million in revenue to the airport.
