Denver International Airport Unites in Orange with a Pre-Super Bowl Celebration

Home

DENVER — Jan. 31, 2014 — Travelers and employees at Denver International Airport (DIA) United in Orange at a pre-Super Bowl Celebration in Jeppesen Terminal this morning in anticipation of the Denver Broncos playing in the Super Bowl on Sunday. The Montbello High School Drum Line and cheerleaders electrified the crowd while passengers cheered along with pom-poms. Travelers were treated to free face-painting during the festivities.

DIA has been supporting the Denver Broncos throughout their journey to the Super Bowl. Some of the ways we have shown our Broncos spirit include (photos are available):

  • The DIA welcome signage is lit orange.
  • Some overhead signs on Peña Boulevard read “Welcome to Broncos Country!”
  • There is a greeting from Champ Bailey (and previously from John Elway) on the train that shuttles passengers between the Terminal and concourses.
  • Ambassadors and Customer Service agents are wearing Broncos buttons and blue and orange ties.
  • Orange and blue balloons are displayed at the information booths.
  • Employees have been wearing orange on the Mayoral proclaimed Orange Fridays.
  • United is the official sponsor of the Broncos, and their areas have banners up. Some other airlines, such as Southwest, are decorating as well.
  • Airport bet: Denver’s Manager of Aviation, Kim Day, has agreed with Sea-Tac Director Mark Reis that the airport whose team does not win Super Bowl XLVIII will display the flag of the opposing team in a public place for 24 hours.
  • Facebook and Twitter posts
  • All concessions have been encouraged to decorate in orange and blue to show their support for the AFC Champion Denver Broncos. Participating concessions who share a photo of their team spirit will participate in DIA’s Facebook contest where our fans will vote for their favorite concession decorations.
  • “Omaha!” is displayed on flight information and baggage display screens, as well as at gates.
  • “Master of the Drive” (John Elway’s Hands in Cast Bronze) by Artist Raelee Frazier is in a display case at the southeast end of baggage claim.

More photos of the festivities are on Denver International Airport’s Facebook page. B-roll is available for the media upon request. Video
