Denver International Airport Snow Update: March 14, 12:30 p.m.

Home

DENVER —March 14, 2021 — As of 11:30 a.m., Denver International Airport (DEN) has closed all six runways due to low visibility on the airfield. The terminal and concourses remain open to passengers. Concessions and vending machines are open throughout the airport as well.

Additionally, inbound and outbound Peña Boulevard remain open, however visibility is low and roads are icy and snow-packed. Drivers should give our snowplows room to clear the roadways. We encourage anyone traveling to or from the airport to consider riding the RTD A-Line, which is currently running with minimal delays.

For those who are planning to pick up a loved one up from the airport today, we strongly recommend that you do not drive, instead use the commuter rail line, or consider waiting to pick up your passengers until later in the day.

DEN has received a total of 19.1 inches of snow, which has increased by 8 inches from the last National Weather Service update.

DEN snow removal crews continue to work around the clock to keep Peña Boulevard and parking lots clear. At this time, 849 flights have been cancelled, 61 have been delayed and 6 flights have been diverted. Airlines are operating a limited number of flights today, with the majority of flights operating late this afternoon or early this evening.

Denver International Airport is one of the busiest airports in the world. DEN is the primary economic engine for the state of Colorado, generating more than $36 billion for the region annually.
