Denver International Airport Exceeds Goals for Airport Concessions Disadvantaged Business Enterprises

Home

DENVER – March 11, 2024 – Denver International Airport (DEN) today announced that its Airport Concessions Disadvantaged Business Enterprises (ACDBE) revenue goals were exceeded for Fiscal Year 2023. Specifically, the ACDBE Rental Car achievement was 7.87 percent, or 6.17 percent above the goal, and the ACDBE Non-Rental Car achievement was 38.96 percent, or 11.36 percent above the goal.

“I’m proud that DEN’s ACDBE program continues to outperform our federal goals,” said DEN CEO Phil Washington. “Creating and ensuring equity in how small businesses compete for contracts is central to how we do business at DEN. We’ve grown our program considerably over the last few years and are continuing to create new opportunities for disadvantaged businesses to launch and grow at DEN.”

In federal fiscal year 2022, DEN also exceeded its federally determined business contracting goal, by achieving 31.95 percent. Last year, ACDBE concessions business revenue was the highest it had been in the past six years, reaching more than $230 million.

The ACDBE Program is a federal program designed to level the playing field for small businesses who wish to participate in contracting opportunities at airports. An overall ACDBE goal is established every three years by DEN and is approved by the FAA. The overall goal percentage represents the difference between the current percentage of minority and women-owned firms’ participation on transportation projects and the percentage of participation that would be expected absent the effects of current and past discrimination.
