DENVER – July 16, 2024 – Denver International Airport (DEN) announced today that its Business Development Training Academy (BDTA) has been honored with the Airport Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Initiative of the Year at the 2024 Food and Beverage Awards. The Airport Food & Beverage + Hospitality Conference & Awards, organized by the London-based Moodie Davitt Report, prioritizes supporting and awarding those who create a progressive path in the industry.

“The Food and Beverage Awards are not only industry recognized, but globally recognized as well,” DEN CEO Phil Washington said. “This accolade underscores DEN’s steadfast commitment to cultivating an inclusive and diverse environment within the airport community, a guiding principle of our Vision 100 strategic plan, particularly in the realms of concessions, construction, goods and services, and professional services.”

The BDTA gives small businesses a systematic approach to entering DEN as subcontractors in the areas of Construction, Professional Services, Goods and Services and Concessions. The three primary goals of the Training Academy are to create, educate and cultivate an environment where the small business can grow and connect with other businesses and industry groups.
