DENVER – June 25, 2019 – More than 5.3 million passengers passed through Denver International Airport (DEN) in April 2019, setting the record as the busiest April ever at DEN, and extending the airport’s consecutive growth record to 19 months in a row.
In April 2019, DEN passenger traffic was up more than four percent over April 2018 despite 900 flights cancelled during a strong winter storm that spanned April 10 and 11. April international passenger traffic saw a nearly six percent increase over April 2018. Some of the increase can be attributed to the shift of the Easter holiday to late April (versus late March in 2018).
Mail, freight and express cargo operations increased more than 16 percent in April, with 53,234,126 pounds of cargo in April 2019.
