Description:

As a member of the Menzies Aviation Ground Service Equipment (GSE) Mechanic team you will be responsible for the safe and efficient repairing and rebuilding of airport service vehicles. You will be required to inspect and identify defective or broken parts on vehicles as well as make repairs to gas/diesel engines, hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical systems.

Key Responsibility

  • Perform preventative and unscheduled maintenance, major and minor repairs on all types of Menzies Aviation Ground Service Equipment.
  • Perform schedule preventative maintenance on company equipment.
  • Perform complete repair on vehicles, both electrical and mechanical.
  • Perform diagnostic procedures on equipment to determine needed repairs.
  • Perform electrical diagnostics and repair on vehicles and equipment.
  • Perform welding repairs as required.
  • Receive and inventory parts and supplies.
  • Report and defects and damages to management.
  • Perform assigned work safely in all areas.

 Qualifications

  • High School diploma or GED.
  • Valid Driver’s License required.
  • 2 years of technical accredited training preferred.
  • ASE certification preferred.
  • Ability to interpret printed or computerized maintenance manuals.
  • Write legibly to complete forms/paperwork as required.

Physical Requirements

  • Prolonged periods of standing and walking.
  • Ability to climb, bend, or crawl into awkward spaces.
  • Regularly left and/or move up to 50 pounds, frequently left and /or move up to 75 pounds and occasionally lift and/or more 75 – 100 pounds.
  • Exposure to physical environment which involves moving mechanical parts, fumes, dirt, odors, noise, weather extremes or similar elements often.

Working Conditions

While performing the duties of this job, the employee may regularly work in outside weather conditions. The employee frequently works near moving mechanical parts, high voltages and high hydraulic/pneumatic pressures.

The employee is also frequently exposed to very loud noise levels, fumes or airborne particles and hazardous substances, materials or waste. The employee occasionally works in high, precarious places. Must have Electrical, Maintenance, and computer knowledge. Under the daily supervision of the Maintenance Manager with assistance as needed from the Station Manager.

Performs periodic maintenance and inspections on filters, pumps, valves, tanks, pressure controls, metering and gauging equipment, company vehicles. Troubleshoot and repair above mentioned equipment as well as pipeline issues, electrical equipment, motors, switch gear, and lighting. Ensures that all work assigned is performed in a timely fashion with quality workmanship. Ensure through definitive methods that product meets or exceeds quality standards set forth; ensure all work is completed in a timely manner, contributing to an efficient operation, while projecting a professional image for MENZIES AVIATION.

Employee may also engage in debris removal which involves lifting, bending and stooping. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 25lbs and occasionally lift and/or move up to 70lbs.
