Casey Day is a fourth-generation Colorado native, Casey, Day currently resides in the historic mountain town of Silver Plume. He has captured the essence of winter snow sports and backcountry landscapes, and in 2007 he founded Colorado Ski Photography. Casey’s work has been featured on hundreds of different magazine covers, trail maps, catalogs, and publications throughout the world.
Scott DW Smith resides in Durango and opened lmagesmith Photo Studio in downtown Durango. His studio and gallery remains open in the same location. Scott’s award winning photographs have been widely published in local, national and international publications, including a Pulitzer Prize contribution to the New York Times in 2013.
“Colorado Winter: Landscapes & Adventures” featured a venturesome color photography series of epic and sometimes extreme Colorado locations.
Ski resorts, aspen trees, high flyers and wintery panoramas were just a few of the image samplings from professional outdoor adventure photographers Casey Day and Scott DW Smith. The two photographers, one located in Silver Plume, the other in Durango, have dedicated their lives and careers to photographing Colorado’s backcountry. Whether capturing a black diamond skier or a quiet mountain cabin, these two photographers consistently make first tracks.
