About Colorado Winter Festivals

When the weather gets cold and the snow begins to fall, Coloradans have the unique opportunity to partake in the iconic winter festivals around the state. Lighting ceremonies, ice and snow sculpture carving competitions, ice climbing and battling down ski slopes are just a few of the activities to participate in or watch.
The Colorado Winter Festivals exhibit displays over 15 long-running Colorado winter events. Displays feature event and town information, competition apparel, tools and equipment, festival artifacts and photographs – all depicting past and upcoming events.
True to each winter in Colorado, there’s sure to be a festival somewhere around the Denver metro area or in one of state’s many historic mountain towns. Colorado Winter Festivals offers a small sampling of the numerous wintertime celebrations and fun to be had.
