Dave Showalter is based in Colorado and chronicles the American West through images and stories. Showalter’s work has been featured in several publications, books and calendars. His work explores the beauty, ecological diversity and human use of sagebrush country in Colorado and the West.
In his book, “Sage Spirit: The American West at a Crossroads,” Showalter says, “These sagebrush lands hold a promise. The Sage Spirit vision—connecting wilderness, public, and private lands to conserve the heart of the West—and passing on a proud western legacy are still within our grasp.”
Braided River is the conservation imprint of Mountaineers Books, an independent nonprofit publisher based in Seattle. Through photography books that lead to multimedia presentations and exhibitions, Braided River works to protect western North America’s remaining public lands.
